Welcome to our links page !

Yarwell is on the edge of Rockingham Forest. which has a charity devoted to its interests. They have received money from the EU to fund their work. Similar objectives are being tackled by the Welland Partnership which is an amalgamation of five local authorities working together to a common agenda.

Our health is looked after by the local Doctors practice which offers online prescription and appointment services.

For the animals we have a Veterinary Practice in the Village.

To get to and from Yarwell by the limited bus service you better study the timetable here.

You can travel on some historic trains on the Nene Valley Railway which comes close to the village and now has a platform for joining or leaving the train at Yarwell Junction. The platform is a reasonable walk from the road via the Mill and a footpath through woods / fields, so leave plenty of time if you're aiming for a specific train. Just up from the platform is a recently installed mail bag collecting rig, used to pass mail bags to and from passing trains.

Wanting to set up, sell or buy a small business, or need help with contract law or other legal matters ? Contact Chris Muris at Altmore Business Law for a free initial consultation.

Our district council is East Northamptonshire who have their own web site as part of the Government's efforts to make more services available on line. As part of this you can look at planning applications and decisions which includes viewing plans and letters of objection or support. You can also pay your Council tax or business Rates by debit card on the online payment service.

Another Local Authority initiative is the Oundle Online site, one of a number of web portals based around Market towns in the county. This has a wealth of links to itmes of local interest including Tourist information, community sites, services, businesses etc.
A similar national commercial initiative to provide localised content is , with Yarwell's page here. This and many other of the pages are incomplete but there are some standard items for each village like timetables, What's On, maps and so on. It also provides an easy way to build a community on-line diary or a noticeboard for village events.

To the West of the village is Old Sulehay Wood, now a nature reserve owned by the local Wildlife Trust. They have a new website specifically for the Sulehay nature reserve.

Sulehay is an ancient Royal hunting forest, and the area has connections to Henry VIII and his wives.

Soaring over the village and the area you may see a magnificent Red Kite, a large bird of prey recently reintroduced to the area and doing well.

On the banks of the River Nene just outside the village is Yarwell Mill Caravan Park which should be approached by car from the South West (Nassington) direction to minimise traffic through the village. The Mill offers park homes, caravan parking, camping and boat mooring facilities. Fishing is available on the lake or on the River Nene which runs through the caravan park.

In the next village, Nassington we have the Winesmith, a specialist wine shop with a good web site.

A Landscape Gardener living in Yarwell - Jonathan Major - now has his own web site

A talented local girl Cheryl Lee can be heard singing her own songs and covers on MySpace or in person in the Angel Inn from time to time, usually on a Saturday night. She can also be found serving behind the bar some evenings.

An online directory of businesses serving our area is provided by 192directory.co.uk which lists service by distance from the PE8 postcode area.
