Services :-

Refuse collection - Monday mornings, usually 08:30-09:30 including kerbside recycle boxes. Alternate weeks collection of Green box (cardboard, cans, plastics) and Red box (paper, not shredded, no plastic wrappers). Blue box bottle recycling is every 4 weeks. Electricity - Yarwell is in the former East Midlands Electricity region and the supply system is run by Central Networks part of E.ON. In case of loss of supply or a dangerous overhead cable call 0800 056 8090 the 24h emergency number. For routine enquiries call 0800 096 3080 office hours 08:30-17:00. Note that your electricity will be provided by someone else (Powergen, EDF Energy, British Gas etc) and you should check your bill for their customer services numbers.

Anglian Water - leaks, sewer problems - 0845 7 145145

Telephones - BT - loss of phone service, dangerous lines etc dial 150 from a BT phone or 0800 800 150 from any other phone. If you have problems with your broadband service contact your internet service provider.

Local Shops etc :- 

Nassington Post Office opens Monday-Friday 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:30 except for Wednesday afternoon. Saturday open 09:00-12:30. Last postal collection 16:45 weekdays, 11:50 Saturday and 13:30 on Sunday. 
Postal collection from Yarwell weekdays just later than Nassington, Wansford a few minutes after that.

Moulds Butcher, Nassington - Tuesday-Friday 08:00-13:00. Tues 14:00-15:00 Thurs, Fri 14:00-18:00.
Closed Sat, Sun, Mon.

Angel Inn, Yarwell - Closed Monday otherwise open 12:00-15:00 daily and 19:00-23:00 except Friday and Saturday when closing time is Midnight.

ENDC Planning have a Duty planner on call at 01832 742225 Mon-Fri 9-5 except for Wednesday afternoon.

Fire service - Yarwell is covered by the Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue Service which has a single tender retained Station in Oundle. As we are just on the Cambridgeshire border we may also benefit from the greater level of cover provided by the Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service  so if you are unfortunate enough to need to call out the Fire Service on 999 or 112 then make sure the operator understands where you are.

Police - Northamptonshire Police are our local force but as with other Emergency Services there is a degree of overlap with Cambridgeshire / Peterborough. Yarwell falls under "North Northamptonshire" with fully manned Police stations in Corby and Kettering. The Station at Oundle, between the Fire station and Library, is only partially manned. 08453 700 700 is the number for calls other than 999 / 112 emergencies. The website has a Contact Us section where you can find more specific contact details. There is also an online reporting tool for specific crimes like Theft or Criminal Damage.

NHS - our local Doctors are based in the Wansford Surgery and you can make appointments online via their web site (registration required) or call 01780 782342. The surgery has a dispensary and repeat prescriptions can be ordered online or by phoning 01780 783994 (9-12 am only please). Out of Hours cover 18:30-08:00 is now via NHS Direct 0845 4647 with a walk-in centre in Peterborough at the Rivergate car park (Asda) 01733 293838.

Ambulance cover is changing over to the new East Midlands Ambulance Service, with the nearest station in Oundle. We have seen the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance in action in Yarwell in the past, other air ambulance services are in neighbouring counties.
