The Angel Inn, Yarwell

Our village pub is the sole retail business in Yarwell and is in the capable hands of Nick and Di Lander.

The Angel is a real ale pub with a good variety of beer and cider. Nick is a biker and there is a bit of a bike theme to part of the pub but all in the best possible taste. Di is from a Yarwell family so the local connections are strong.

Children are accommodated and there's a garden area "out the back" as well as games machines and pool in a separate room off the bar area.Outdoor seating is also available at the front and side of the pub. To the rear is a new covered area for smokers to enjoy a drink and a cigarette with a roof over their heads and some heating.

The garden area has been equipped with tables covered by canopies to keep the rain or sun at bay. Starting in June the Angel now serves a limited range of food in the form of hot sandwiches - chicken, pork ribs, beefburger etc - both at lunchtime and in the evening.

As well as good drink and cheerful company the Angel puts on a range of entertainment including live music - from Folk to Rock - quizzes, darts matches, Karaoke etc. Most of these are free and attract different groups of people to add to the variety of pub life.

Peterborough CAMRA rate the Angel as "a good little pub worth a visit" .
