A preschool run by a voluntary committee operates 5 half days per week, split between Yarwell and Nassington village halls. This provides a welcoming atmosphere for the youngsters aged 2.5 to 4 and blends nicely into starting at Nassington School by using the playground there and making occasional visits to the Reception class. It too is inspected and reported on by Ofsted (except this one's a web page)s.
Yarwell is right on the edge of Northamptonshire so there are several options for schooling our children.
The "default" solution from Northamptonshire LEA is a middle school system where the children start at Nassington School in the academic year (September to September) in which their 5th birthday falls. At age 9 they move on to the middle school which is the Kings Cliffe site of Oundle & King's Cliffe Middle School or OKCMS for short. At 14 or so they go on to Prince William School at Oundle.
Oundle has its famous public school and Stamford (6 miles to the North of Yarwell) in Lincolnshire also has a variety of state and private schools with good reputations. 10 miles to the East is Peterborough with a wide range of schools. Yarwell residents sometimes use these schools for convenience eg if they work in those localities or if the education offerred is a better fit with their requirements.
There are bus services for all three LEA schools, a minibus to Nassington leaves at 08:45 returning 15:25 and coaches for Prince William and OKCMS at 08:10 returning 16:30
